Jubilation as Hon Obi Aguocha sets April 17 for Educational Support Disbursement to 284 Students in Ikwuano/Umuahia, names Venue
Abia, April 13, 2025 –
In a continued effort to promote academic excellence and support young scholars, Hon. Obi Aguocha, the Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, is set to disburse
Educational Support to 284 students from across the constituency.
The event, part of the Obi Aguocha Educational Support Program, will take place on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Ochendo Hall, Umuahia North LGA Headquarters, beginning promptly at 9:00 AM. Only recipients who have been officially notified are expected to attend.
The initiative, which was launched last year with 286 beneficiaries, aims to ease the financial burden on families and promote access to quality education for students in primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions.
This year’s edition continues that vision with a fresh batch of 284 educational support recipients.
Speaking ahead of the program, Hon. Aguocha reaffirmed his deep commitment to empowering young people through education.
“This initiative is born out of my strong belief that education is the greatest investment in our future,” he said. “By providing these educational support, we are not just funding school fees; we are nurturing future leaders, innovators, and professionals who will contribute meaningfully to our society.”
He explained that the distribution process is structured to ensure fairness and inclusivity across the 32 wards that make up the constituency.
“Each ward will receive
Educational Support for about eight students — four for tertiary institutions, two for secondary, and two for primary schools. This program is designed to give equal opportunities to all corners of our constituency, regardless of background or status,” Aguocha emphasized.
A breakdown of the beneficiaries reveals that 160 students are from tertiary institutions, 64 from secondary schools, and 60 from primary schools.
In addition to financial support, Hon. Aguocha noted that the program also includes mentoring and encouragement for academic discipline.
“Our young people need not only funding but the motivation to keep striving for excellence. I want every recipient to know that they are seen, valued, and supported. We are building a legacy of learning and leadership,” he said.
He further reiterated the role of education in national progress, saying, “A well-educated society is a progressive society. I am committed to ensuring that no child in Ikwuano/Umuahia is left behind due to financial hardship.”
The Educational Support Program has already drawn praises from constituents, parents, and community leaders.
Mrs. Ifeoma Uka, a mother of a past beneficiary, commended Hon. Aguocha’s dedication.
“God will bless him,” she said. “He has done so much for our children, from renovating schools to providing learning materials, and now these scholarships. His heart is truly with the people.”
As April 17 approaches, the community looks forward to another impactful milestone in Hon. Aguocha’s educational support agenda.
His steadfast dedication continues to inspire hope for a better future through education.
