The Same Way I Worked For You To Be There Is The Same Way God Made Me To Be Here -Chukwuemeka Aaron

The leadership crisis within Rivers State's People's Democratic Party (PDP) has intensified as Chairman Hon. Chukwuemeka Aaron strongly contests recent challenges to his position while claiming that he worked assiduously for Sir Siminalayi Fubara to be Governor of Rivers state.

In a recent media briefing covered by Symfoni TV, Hon. Aaron expressed frustration over what he sees as political opportunism: "These people who never campaigned for the governor are the people sitting at the front seat today. And you think that you will reap where you didn't sow."

The PDP Chairman accused the governor of attempting to sideline his former supporters: "All he (Fubara) wants to achieve is to run people who worked for him down. No person can run me down, and no person can also remove me here. The same way I worked for you to be there is the same way God made me to be here."

The chairman warned against attempts to destabilize the party: "They want to balkanize this party. We were elected, and the members of the party voted for me and my excos." He particularly noted the shifting allegiances, stating: "Those who left us here in October did their APP congresses and voted for APP. Today, they are coming back, saying they want to come back to balkanize here; they cannot succeed."

Meanwhile, Hon. Robinson Ewoh, who is an ally of Governor Fubara, has claimed legitimacy as the party's caretaker chairman. Ewoh contests the validity of last year's congress, citing a state High Court directive that had prohibited the election.

The situation has grown more complex with a recent Port Harcourt High Court ruling nullifying the congress that installed Aaron and his executive committee. However, Aaron maintains that neither he nor his executives were party to the legal proceedings that led to this ruling.
