Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour: Iran response to any threat to be decisive, harsh


Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Force, has affirmed that Iran's armed forces are prepared to deliver a strong and decisive response to any threat or aggression against the country.


Speaking during the "Payambar-e Azam (The Great Prophet) 19" military exercises, General Pakpour highlighted the dual focus of the drill, emphasizing both its security and defense components. He noted that the exercise's security operations have already commenced in the western border regions, with the defensive phase scheduled to take place soon in southern Iran.

"The Payambar-e Azam 19 exercise is part of the IRGC Ground Force's annual agenda. Its primary goal is to enhance combat readiness, strengthen operational capabilities, and improve the identification and neutralization of potential threats," General Pakpour explained.

The ongoing drill, according to the commander, reflects the IRGC’s commitment to safeguarding national borders and ensuring Iran's territorial integrity. General Pakpour also underscored the critical importance of border security, calling it the foremost priority of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.


"Any threat or encroachment on the borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be met with a strong and decisive response from our armed forces," he asserted. "Our preparedness to defend the nation is at its highest level."

The annual Payambar-e Azam exercises are designed to simulate various military scenarios, testing the IRGC's ability to adapt to evolving challenges. These drills serve as a platform to showcase Iran's military capabilities, while also sending a clear signal to adversaries about the nation's readiness to defend itself against any form of aggression.

According to reports from MERH News Agency, the strategic timing of the exercise in both western and southern regions further demonstrates Iran's intent to address potential security challenges across multiple fronts. The maneuvers are seen as a reaffirmation of the IRGC’s role in maintaining national sovereignty and responding decisively to any perceived threat.
